THE SEASON IS HERE!

After a long winter of almost no work, the season has started. Ive been getting lawn mowers in for just some basic repairs but all of a sudden I got 7 saws in the door today. No very much compared to what I get in the buissy season. But it lets me know the work is comming. I cant wait for the performance jobs,...thats when the fun begines!

MORE TACO!

This is what the bike looks like when its new or restored. I dont know if ill do a restoration, just clean it up and ride it, make a 2 stroke street chopper, a drag bike, or a flat tracker. Either ways its getting ported!

IM AN UNCLE

My youngest brother just had a baby. I always knew he would be the first. Here he is with his new daughter Riley LeAnn.

ONE MORE PROJECT. I THINK THERE WILL NEVER BE AN END.

I picked up this 70's Bultaco 350 Sherpa yesterday. After flushing out the fuel tank and the carb i got it running. Damn thing runs so good its hard to keep the front tire down.

MORE BOTTL PICS

THE BROTHERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING LID!

I got involved in a group where a helmet got passed from one motorcycle rider to the next, all across the united states. the rules where this: you have to ride it for a minimum of 200 miles, put a sticker on it, and post a ride story and pictures on Chopcult.com. These are my pics with the helmet.

I had to ride up to Albany with my friend Matt to pick up the helmet and met Jason who is from Salem. He had ridden it out to the coast and back inland where I met up with him at Humpty's Dump Bar and Grill. The next day I took the helmet out Diamond Lake blvd to follow along the Umpqua river. About 60miles out it started raining really hard and I was low on gas. I was completly soaked and on fumes by the time i made it to a gas station. After that I rode it to and from work the rest of the week. I ended up riding up to Eugene IN THE RAIN to hand it off.

It would probably seem like it was a terrible experience but, I had a blast!
Its the good and the bad times that really makes motorcycle riding an adventure.

nasty head!

This is what happens when you warp a cylinder head on an overhead valve briggs. The head gasket blows out into the pushrod hole and the motor burns oil. After cleaning off all the carbon build up I noticed that the head had alot of nasty casting flash. I couldnt let it go out like that so I did a little massaging. By no means is this a port job, but its still alot better. Afterwards, I re-cut the valve seats, cleaned up the valves, lapped them together, and plained the cylinder head. Afer adding a new gasket set, it all went tegether using my mega expensive snap-on torque wrench.

nasty!

i dont really understand it but, people always neglect their air filters. when you have a piece of expensive equipment that gets run in the dirtiest conditions the cheap little air filter will need to be replaced faily often. its just cheap insurance against major engine failure that WILL occure if when its not replaced.

TOO MANY PROJECTS!

what do you do when you have too many projects and not enough time or money?

the race mower is an old 1960 huffy 5hp mower that has recieved a 14.5hp ohv briggs motor. i still need to get the frame, trans, rear end, spindles, and steering built.

the motor cycle frame i got when i got my triumph motor but fits a honda. im on the lookout for an old handa for the motor and small odds and ends to make a little jap chopper. maybe ill come across an old two stroke motor! im getting more ideas!

the triumph motor and trans are from a 1955 thunderbird. i need to find the rest of the bike to get this one going. i think this one will be my favorite, but will also be the most involved and expensive.

the yamaha is a 1972 ls2. 100cc twin cylinder with dual carbs. this will be a cool two stroke cafe racer. so far as i have found, this bike was only manufactured for 4 years and only availiable in the U.S. in 1972. i got it running after is had been sitting in a field for 20 years. i need to find a full gasket set, piston rings, and some carbs. i got these carbs working but they are way to corroded.

all together, it was a fun day.
