Tanked Up Tuesday

Better late than never....

I've been really enjoying IPA's latley but,...this was not one of them. I can't really put a finger on exactly what it was about it I didnt like. It just wasn't a tasty beer.
Maybe I should lean some "beer speak" so I can better explain these things.

Guess that's what I get for running down to the 711 to get some beer.

  1. Pour: Sam 48 beer pours a nice amberish copper color with a white soft head and little lacing.

The nose: hints of a fruity hops followed by a sweet caramel biscuit malty finish.

Taste: The Piney resiny upfront taste followed by a sweet honey caramel malty backbone is killed with a weird metallic like aftertaste.

The taste is not balanced by adding a little to much malt in which kills the whole bitter IPA mouth feel and finish. In the end you will walk away wishing you had an IPA instead of an unbalanced European amber.

    Here ya go bro!
